For seven years, Ailea Brown has been missing.
She was 10 years old when she vanished from her home in Reisterstown, Maryland, just as a bitter custody battle involving her parents had reached a critical point.
On July 6, 2026, Georgia authorities conducted a felony traffic stop along Interstate 85 in Hart County and arrested Ailea’s biological mother, 37-year-old Alicia Denise Brown.
Alicia Brown is the estranged wife of prominent Atlanta radio personality Darian “Big Tigger” Morgan.
According to authorities, Alicia was wanted on outstanding kidnapping-related warrants from Maryland connected to the 2019 disappearance of a 10-year-old child. She also faces a felony interference with child custody charge in Fulton County, Georgia.
Two young children were safely recovered from the vehicle during the traffic stop.
But Ailea Brown is still missing.
Ailea disappeared on May 25, 2019, from the 300 block of Erin Russel Court in Reisterstown.
Her disappearance came after years of fighting over her custody.
Ailea’s father, Durrell Williams, had been awarded full legal custody of his daughter. Ailea vanished shortly before she was scheduled to be returned to his care.
From the beginning, investigators did not believe this was a random stranger abduction.
Authorities suspected Ailea had been taken and hidden by a non-custodial parent.
Her father has said it publicly for years.
“Her mom knows exactly where she is. The only people that do not know where this child is are the police and myself.”
Durrell never believed his 10-year-old daughter simply ran away.
The custody battle had already been shaped by a disturbing incident years earlier.
In January 2014, Alicia Brown was arrested after authorities said she left then-4-year-old Ailea alone inside a freezing vehicle for approximately eight hours while she visited Maryland Live! Casino.
Paramedics were called to help the child after she was found visibly distressed in the cold.
Years later, Durrell was awarded full legal custody.
Then Ailea disappeared.
Neighbors reported seeing a white SUV in the area around the time she vanished.
There were no signs of a stranger forcing Ailea from the home.
No evidence of a random kidnapping.
And no confirmed sighting of Ailea for seven years.
She was 10 years old then.
She is now 17.
On July 6, authorities in Georgia received an alert regarding a vehicle traveling north on Interstate 85.
Hart County deputies and Georgia State Patrol troopers stopped the vehicle near Exit 177.
Alicia Brown was taken into custody.
She is expected to be extradited to Maryland to face the kidnapping-related charges.
The arrest is a major development in a case that has remained unresolved since 2019.
But an arrest is not the same as finding Ailea.
Seven years have passed.
A child became a teenager somewhere.
A father has spent those years asking where his daughter is.
And now the woman authorities have long connected to the suspected family abduction is in custody.
Ailea Brown was 4’8″ tall and weighed approximately 85 pounds when she disappeared. She had a medium complexion, brown hair, and brown eyes.
